Actually, if you get your analysis from people who have been following this geopolitical nexus quietly since the '70s oil embargo by OPEC, rather than "news" (that fantasy genre) from the hysterical MSM that serves The Blob and their designated Dissenting Voices...it's exactly the opposite.
It's an attempt to break up the City of London's/Bank of England's global dominance empire, an organized crime cartel that has run on drugs, human trafficking, slavery, booze, money laundering, permawar, national destabilization operations (***including sponsoring organized terrorism***), and the logistics, infrastructure, policy, and economic/financial control of the world's supply of energy...back to at least 1649.
Tobin, you include a currently influencer-class "former" CIA "analyst." Who has admitted, or anyway claimed, in many interviews that he was trained for, did, and organized/oversaw wetworks stuff, for example. But now because he's making the rounds giving earnest-sounding and theatrically-coached-angsty media interviews, he's taken at face value as a Good Guy with absolutely no agenda but truth? C’mon.

If you go to their 2012 four-part series, Money, Power, and Wall Street, they lay out how the 1990s invention of derivatives got turned into turbo casino speculation by that rotten old fraudster and Alisa Rosenbaum fanboy Alan Greenspan and his minyan of financial criminals.
This arguably originally sensible financial instrument (turning major risk into smaller slices of it, a sort of financialized form of insurance) got corrupted the hardest into the worst, most degraded and dangerous forms of mega-gambling BY THE CITY OF LONDON. They didn't care about ANY risk, as long as they could make bank, which they did. Concentrate profits, socialize costs. The old Sassoon/Rothschild model.
Since Greenspan, Rubin, Summers, and the others pumped this model instead of pumping the brakes in Bubba Clinton's admin, and later came back to extend it under Magic Taupe POTUS, it inevitably led to the crash of 2008. Which has harmed so many people so badly. And left so many young Americans having ZERO expectations of jobs, families, homes, or anything (while largesse is poured out on fraudsters and illegals).

I am not 100% sure about the ex-CIA guy. It is my first encounter with him, though I generally tend to agree with Chris Hedges, his interviewer, a Middle East journalist who I expect to be very familiar with the subject as he has been an onsite reporter during a number of past wars. I don't have time right now to look into the rest of that. Do you think the ex-CIA spending 2 years in prison for his revelations is a farce?
I must admit I have a hard time with so many people continuing to rally around Trump after he ran on a pro-peace campaign and has now gone totally bizerk. In a similar way, during his first election, he appealed to the natural health community and then turned into Daddy "Warp Speed"! It's hard to reconcile such things without resorting to cognitive dissonance.

To me Trump seems to demonstrate many parallels with Adolf Hitler. I don't know if you saw my recent post on Hitler, but is Trump's "economic miracle" any different than Adolf's? Certainly both men make themselves out to be heroes by puling off such feats. But if you look deeper, you see that Hitler was being groomed by British agents EVEN SINCE BEFORE THE NAZIS CAME TO POWER.
No doubt, Trump's maneuvers will "benefit" at least some of the working class. He might even save the petrodollar, who knows? But does that justify bombing people in other countries, supporting the genocidal expansionism of the State of Israel, and targeting civilians on every front? The Trump adminstration has even adopted Israeli rhetoric about ANNIHILATING the "enemy". It is the most shameful, perverse thing that has ever entered the American stage, at least during my lifetime. Where is compassion? Where is kindness and comprehension? I really don't understand how people can support genocidal policies. The only explanation I can find is that they are brainwashed.
